Export your results

Getting your data out of AddaxAI. Which format you want depends on what you will do next.

CSV and XLSX

The same four tables either way. CSV gives one file per table, XLSX puts them on separate sheets of one workbook.

Start with the observations table. One row per species per event, with the count. That is the table most analyses need.

Every column is described in export columns.

Camtrap DP

A standard format for camera trap data. Other tools can read it without knowing anything about AddaxAI, so use it when you share data or deposit it in a repository.

It needs locations and dates, so it is available for projects only.

Recognition file for Timelapse

A JSON file that Timelapse reads. Written into the analysed folder, next to your photos, because Timelapse resolves paths relative to where the file sits. Do not move it.

In Timelapse, choose Recognition, then import recognition data for this image set, and pick the file.

Species folders

A folder run can copy your photos into one folder per species. Useful for a quick visual check or for sharing a subset.

One thing to know: a photo with two species is copied into both folders. The copies are separate files, so the total will be larger than your original folder.

Filters apply

What you export follows the filters you set. If you filtered to one site, you export one site.

Check the threshold before exporting. Anything below it is left out, except detections you verified, which always count. See confidence and verification.

Before you report the numbers

  • Check labels for the species you will report on
  • Confirm the counts for those events
  • Look at the deployment periods and trap nights, since rates depend on them
  • Check how many files had no date, as those drop out of time based results
